This is a globally recognised student ID valid in 120 countries around the world. Everyone who is over 12 years old and is a full-time student (@school/college/university) can get one and is then entitled to numerous discounts. Discounts include travel, shopping, museums and more.
The most popular discounts we recommend to use
IBIS Hotels – You get FREE breakfast for each night you stay at IBIS hotels anywhere in the world! And these are pretty good hotels I must say.
Microsoft Software – Up to 90% off. Although we are not the biggest MS lovers, the discounts are pretty great on this.
Check out all of the most popular museums – they do discounts for ISIC holders (and not only the ones in the UK)
How to apply?
You can get ISIC card in any of STA Travel offices around the country or on the STA Travel website.
You need to have a passport sized photo of yourself. To get it you will need your original student ID and possibly a passport. I am not hundred percent sure how this works if you order it online since this is still an option.
How much does ISIC cost?
It costs £9 per year.
Substitutes and alternative cards to ISIC
International Youth Travel Card (IYTC) and International Teacher Identity Card (ITIC) are alternative cards with the same discounts. However, these two have only certain groups of people who can use them. IYTC can only be used by people who aged under 26 and ITIC is only for currently employed teachers or professors.
