When people decide to move the house, they firstly encounter the moving issue itself – How? The main aspects to consider for you.
How do I sort out all the utility bills?
When you move you might have to switch your energy, broadband and landline providers. You will probably have to cancel several contracts, sign some new ones and sometimes even pay cancellation fees. Do not forget to consider your TV licence. Obviously everything depends on your current situation and what the current house occupant where you are moving yourself to has previously signed.
When we moved to our first rented accommodation we encountered such issues as our flat having no telephone line and as a consequence – no broadband. Our second accommodation had Sky TV and BT landline none of which we wanted. Make sure when you are choosing your new place of living, ask yourself these questions and have a plan set on how you will be sorting them out.
Do I hire solely a car or a car with a driver for a move?
When we moved first time we asked our friend to help us move and had to make four runs in her car within 3 miles distance. She did not mind to help us. Obviously, you cannot ask your friend to drop you and your stuff off four times some 100 miles away. And I believe you do not keep a spare van for this purpose in your garage. So only two options you have are either hire a van I drive it to the destination yourself or hire a Man with a Van.
Do I hire moving agency to help me move?
I personally do not see this as an option since agencies charge you unreasonably and they are not really worth the money. You will find that there hundreds men with vans in the UK who offer a great and friendly service and do not rob you for this purpose.
Where do I get necessary boxes to pack my stuff?
Visit your local supermarkets or other bigger store, I believe they will be happy to help you. Just go straight to the customer service and explain that you are moving and you need some boxes to pack your stuff.
